Best Dive Sites in West Bay, Grand Cayman
The West Bay of Grand Cayman is renowned for the spectacular Seven Mile Beach and its numerous coastal activities. It’s also home to some of the most iconic dive sites on the island!
USS Kittiwake
The USS Kittiwake is one of the most famous dive sites in Grand Cayman. This ship was deliberately sunk off the coast of Seven Mile Beach in 2011 to create an artificial reef. Since it was sunk, it has taken on new life with growing corals and creatures that have made it home.
Diving here is unmissable, as you get to swim into the shipwreck itself and discover its hidden spaces. Only accessible by boat, you can join our 2-Tank Kittiwake Wreck Dive in Grand Cayman or our 1-Tank Grand Cayman Kittiwake Wreck Dive offered through our parent company Red Sail Sports!
Maximum depth: 70 feet
Access: Boat
Eden Rock
Located off the shore near the Eden Rock Diving Centre, Eden Rock is one of the most easily accessible dive sites in Grand Cayman. Here, you’ll find a coral reef blooming from the depths, with intriguing caves and tunnels to explore.
Maximum depth: 40 feet
Access: Shore
Devil’s Grotto
Next to Eden Rock is Devil’s Grotto, which provides another thrilling network of caves and tunnels that reveal breathtaking sights. Schools of tarpon are often found here, swimming with divers as they discover the secrets of the Devil’s Grotto.

Best Dive Sites in East End, Grand Cayman
The East End is one of the most popular diving sides of the Grand Cayman, with a number of sites to choose from. That’s exactly why Tortuga Divers operates here! While you’ll be spoilt for choice in the East End, these are some of our favourite coral reef dives.
Julie’s Wall
Located in Old Man Bay, Julie’s Wall is named after a local nurse who used to dive here. This site has an incredible overhanging wall, which is the closest a diver will get to a BASE jump with it seemingly bottomless. You can swim beneath the wall and discover blooming sponges as you go deeper. Julie’s Wall is a great place to spot turtles and the characterful porcupine puffer fish!
Maximum depth: 100 feet
Access: Boat
Babylon
Babylon is one of the most legendary dive sites in Grand Cayman, and even in the Caribbean. It’s easy to see how it got its name from the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, thanks to its abundant corals. The most notable aspect of Babylon is its towering pinnacle, which is separate from the wall, allowing divers to swim between them. The pinnacle is adorned with vibrant elephant ear sponge, black coral, and giant sea fans.
Maximum depth: 100 feet
Access: Boat
Northern Lights
While you won’t see any real or artificial lighting down here, the Northern Lights dive site offers a glittering array of beauty. It’s named after the condominiums of the same name that are located directly across from the dive site. At this wall reef, you’ll see corals and a variety of sponges, as well as species like parrotfish, grouper, and snapper.
As part of our 2-Tank AM Wall Dive in East Grand Cayman, we explore both the Northern Lights and Babylon among others for an unparalleled diving experience!

Tarpon Alley
Named for its abundance of tarpon, Tarpon Alley places divers right in the midst of a school of fish, numbering up to 100. You can dive through a coral canyon and get up close to the creatures, swimming peacefully among the giants. Even sharks have been spotted here!
Maximum depth: 80 feet
Access: Boat
White Stroke Canyon
Along the North Wall, White Stroke Canyon could easily take your breath away if you weren’t wearing a tank. This site has spectacular coral formations that you can swim among, admiring the corals and sponges as well as the rays and turtles that live here.
Maximum depth: 100 feet
Access: Boat
Ghost Mountain
One of the most striking dive sites in Grand Cayman, Ghost Mountain is a monumental pinnacle that rises from the depths. This sole formation is a spectacle to behold, peeking out at 60 feet and covered in sponges. Rays, turtles, shrimp, and scorpionfish can all be spotted here.
Maximum depth: 90 feet
