The Cayman Islands consists of three islands in the Caribbean Sea with Grand Cayman being the largest of the three. When you picture paradise, you are picturing Grand Cayman. Famed for its pristine sandy beaches, shimmering tropical waters, and warm weather year-round, a visit to Grand Cayman really is heaven-on-earth.
Grand Cayman is split into five districts: West End, George Town, Bodden Town, North Side, and East End. We couldn’t possibly cover all five districts in this one article, so for now, we will turn our attention to East End. In particular, food on the East End.
Food is so important when visiting somewhere new, it can either make or break your holiday. Using our insider knowledge, Tortuga Divers has put together this handy guide to five unique places to eat on the East End!

Rum Point Club
Rum Point Club has the perfect beachfront location with views stretching for miles over the inviting picture-perfect water. The only difficult decision you’ll have to make here is which one of their two restaurants you want to visit: the Rum Deck or Solis Restaurant. Both restaurants serve up delicious dishes using local ingredients, so you could have lunch at one before migrating over to the other for dinner. Best of both worlds!
With an expansive outdoor deck area and open-air bar, Rum Deck is the best option to sit and listen to the waves lapping upon the shore with a signature ‘Mudslide’ cocktail in one hand and some tasty nibbles in the other.
Solis Restaurant is a family-friendly restaurant offering both indoor and outdoor seating options. This laid-back air-conditioned space is the perfect place to cool down while enjoying skillfully crafted mouth-watering Caribbean dishes. They will provide you with an unforgettable experience from the moment you step in the door and will even put an important sporting match on their 65” TVs if you request it!
Visiting Rum Point Club is one of the best things to do on the East End. For even more ideas on activities, read our blog on Things to Do in the East End of Grand Cayman.

La Casita
This down-to-earth restaurant is a hidden gem on the East End. With comfy patio couches and friendly staff, you’ll feel right at home.
La Casita uses locally grown ingredients to create authentic Mexican cuisine, including a range of delectable taco and enchilada dishes. Pair your delicious food with a unique Mexican mezcal or tequila cocktail. Opt for churros or a Mexican chocolate brownie to finish your meal perfectly. If you are lucky, you may even be treated to the sounds of a live Mariachi band.
La Casita also offers an executive menu, which includes a classic margarita, an appetizer, a taco dish, and a dessert. On Sundays, take advantage of a special brunch menu with bottomless drinks!
Mimi’s Dock Bar at Morritt’s
Mimi’s Dock Bar is the Cayman Islands’ first and only dock bar. Extending out into the crystalline Caribbean Sea, you’ll be able to sit at a table by the water’s edge and spot the schools of fish and occasional stingrays that come to visit. Bring your snorkel along, knowing that if you ever get too warm, you can instantly join the marine life for a dip in the refreshing waters.
You’ll feel any stress immediately melt away as Mimi’s Dock Bar creates the ultimate relaxing atmosphere. Spend your time here with some good company, an energizing drink, and flavourful food that showcases the freshest produce.
When the sun sets, Mimi’s Dock Bar really comes alive. With live music and karaoke nights, you’ll sing and dance the night away under the blanket of stars above.

Vivine’s Kitchen
With only a small sign poking out from the roadside, you would be forgiven for accidentally driving past Vivine’s Kitchen. Even if you did spot the sign, you may wonder if this is actually a restaurant as you roll up to what looks like someone’s private driveway. Fear not, you are in the right place! As you walk towards this unassuming eatery, it suddenly opens up to reveal a charming courtyard practically sitting on the water.
The menu offers an authentic taste of the Caribbean. Since they only use what’s fresh and available that day, the menu is subject to change. However, you can expect some island favorites to make a frequent appearance, from stew chicken to turtle soup. Vivine’s Kitchen gives a delightful insight into the culture of the Cayman Islands.
Tukka East End
With an incredible seaside location and views over the famous Wreck of the Ten Sails, Tukka East End is the perfect place to soak up the slow pace of island life. Marrying the flavor of Australia with the Caribbean, Tukka East End uses the freshest local seafood to create unique mouth-watering dishes.
They offer a selection of menus to suit any time of day, from breakfast and brunch menus to an all-day dining menu. Certain days of the week also come with a specific theme including Taco Tuesday, Walkabout Wednesday, and Fresh Fish Friday.
They don’t stop there, as Tukka East End goes all out to make your visit as memorable as possible, from being able to feed the Frigate birds every day at 5 pm to watching the full moon rise over the horizon every month.
